HOW DOES THE WEDDING PROCESS WORK?


STEP 1:

FILL OUT CONTACT FORM

Yay! You're engaged! Once you have chosen your venue and have your date secured, fill out our contact form. We will respond to your submission within 24 hours to set up a welcome call!


STEP 2:

WELCOME CALL

We hop on a phone call or video call to learn about your day. You can ask us all the questions you have! We also discuss package options, a rough timeline, and details for our contract.


STEP 3:

SIGN CONTRACT & PAY Retainer

You receive a contract for you and your fiancé to digitally sign. Once you have signed your contract and paid your retainer your date is secured. We’ll schedule your engagement session if you choose to have one. 


STEP 4:

FINAL PLANNING

We send you a questionnaire to answer some of our questions about the flow of your wedding day. We also schedule a final planning call where we work out all the final details of the day. We will send you your final invoice that isn't due until wedding day.


STEP 5:

WEDDING DAY

We will be with you each step of the day, capturing all of the best moments of your day. We will be there to pump you up and support you! 


STEP 6:

DELIVERY OF GALLERY/VIDEO

You will receive a link to a gallery or your video(s) so you can view and share them with friends and family. Our typical delivery timeframes are listed in the FAQs.

FAQ

How do you photograph/video weddings?

We love being by your side to help you plan before your wedding day. On your wedding day, we want to capture is the feelings, the mood, the emotions, the calm and crazy moments that make your wedding unique. We capture your day in a journalistic style with pockets of time for posed photos and video clips. We edit your photos and films with true to life skin tones so you look how you looked on your wedding day.

We will be your best friends on wedding day, fluffing your dress so it looks perfect in photos, stalling the DJ because your dress isn't bustled yet, and politely telling your guests to put down the iPad when they are trying to take pictures during your ceremony.

Where are you based and do you travel?

We are based in Hagerstown, MD and yes we love to travel! If you want us to photograph or film your story it may require a travel fee depending on where it takes place.

When will we get our photos/video?

Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 6 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season we photograph your story). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints! You will get a preview gallery with 15-30 photos from your day within 1-2 days of your wedding day.

We offer a rush turnaround gallery option as an add on to any wedding photography package for $350. You would have your entire wedding gallery within one week of your wedding. It's like skipping the line at your favorite amusement park.

You will receive your wedding video(s) 4-8 weeks after your wedding. You will get an email with a link to Drop Box, where you can share and download your video as well as a link to YouTube for easy sharing to your family and friends!

How many photos will we receive?

For 8 hours of coverage (most common), you will receive 900+ fully edited images. We always choose quality rather than quantity and that's why we will choose the best and more significant photos to tell your story.

Are you still booking weddings in 2026?

We have very limited availability for 2026. We are currently booking 2027 weddings.

Will my wedding film include drone work?

Yes! As long as there are fair weather conditions and your venue is not in restricted air space your wedding video will have drone footage. Joe is a FAA Part 107 licensed UAS drone pilot/operator.

Do we have insurance?

Yes! We carry insurance and if your venue requires additional insurance we are happy to work with them and get them a COI.

Where can I learn more about your process and your wedding vendor philosophy?

We have a podcast called "Blue Hour with J&M" where we share our philosophy and knowledge of weddings to help our couples and other couples when planning their wedding.

Do you offer a education/First Responder/Military discount?

We love our educator, first responder, and military friends. Mention this to us on your welcome call and we will work something out with you. We like to give you something for free! (ex: extra hour of coverage, roll of film photography, video add on)
